Leigh Folk Club - 2002 Autumn Season

Following the summer beak Leigh Folk Club's 2002 season re-started on the 27th of September with Nebula.

Session were held on Friday evenings at 8:15pm in the Conservative Club on Railway Road, Leigh.

27th of September NEBULA
Admission price £5 (concessions) 8:15pm start. Nebula were last seen at the club as The Bran Taylor Band. They were a huge hit with the audience and are a truely ralented Duo in their own right. The accompaniments and and arrangements are undeniably very highly regarded using guitars, citterns, concertina, bodhran and bass. Their whole performance is underpinned with good humour. Pure talent not to be missed.

25th of October Les Barker
Ticket only admission, price £6 (concessions) 8:15pm start. Les Barker is the greatest comedy talent we possess and his talent is recognised world wide. This man is a guenuine genius of comic rhyme who appeals to people of all ages with a truly entertaining family show. "I have seen mim reduce a whole audience to a mass of helpless laughter and aching sides". Don't miss this night of truely hilarious entertainment. Tickets available from Pauline or Des.

22nd of November Vikki Clayton
Admission price £5 (concessions) 8:15pm start. Vikki Clayton is a lady of many parts. She has performed with fairport Convention, fronts the Sandy Denny tribute band 'the Nerve' performs with Fairport's Ric Sanders and guitar maestro Fred Baker and also pursues a highly successful career as a singer/songwriter. Vikkie has a stunningly beautiful and lyrical voice. She combines this talent with a mischievous sense of humour and you will have a memorable night of music and fun in her company.

26th of October Calico
On the 26th of October Calico will be hosting a night with The Oldham Tinkers at St.Joseph's Hall Chapel Street Leigh. Commences at 7:30pm, tickets £7.50 (concessions) with bar.
